My latest painting, an experiment in created reflections. My working title for it was Mona Lisa of the Wires (a bit pretentious perhaps :), since she’s one of my motherless children created from photo morphing, which tends to result in Mona Lisa smiles. I wanted to see if I could keep her beauty overlayed with old building trash. It’s much nicer in person, I think, since the casein lends a milky (literally), dreamy look to the surface. I have been thinking about painting in oils, but I think casein may be particularly suited to reflections. The Western Motel sign and street reflections are from Benson Highway.
